What can you get for £6?

It was time to start looking for a gift.

Richer Solutions was turning 6 years old  (cheers to that). I usually buy a gift for myself to celebrate. Top contender was pink shoes, but I’ve done that a few times now. Also, there aren’t any I have my eye on right now.

What about a caterpillar cake? Every supermarket does one now. This should have made it easy. Instead, I found myself in a dilemma about which one to get. When I started looking at reviews, I knew I needed to think differently.

So I began to wonder what I could get for £6. That’s $8 to my USA friends.

Gift hunting on a budget

To get me started, I asked AI. Some of the suggestions come from that. The reflection on each item is all mine.

Tesco Finest wood-fired pizza and side

This needs to be cooked for 14 minutes, which is ok. There are plenty of options and combos to choose from. Lots of flavour and there is even an option for the trendy hot honey.

Verdict: Too many options

Classic Uno set

Who doesn’t love giving the player next to you a pick-up 4 card? This backfired the other week and I ended up picking up 14 cards and arguing with the family.

Verdict: Already have it. Also might cause disharmony in the family.

L’Oreal Men Expert 5-in-1 Carbon shower gel

It seems expensive for shower gel, but apparently it is also a shampoo, shaving base, moisturiser, and face cleanser.

Verdict: I must admit I thought I would clean up with this, but I have no hair. So that reduces it to 4-in-one.

The Pumpkin Shop 500-piece jigsaw

This one is a bit of a cheat as it’s part of a two for £12 offer.

Verdict: I like a puzzle but not sure on this one.

Starbucks Caramel Macchiato

This is just over £6. I’ve never tried it, but I have heard it smells amazing.

Verdict: I’m a tea drinker, so the appeal is limited.

Overall verdict: underwhelmed

What do you do when none of the options appeals to you? You do something different.

That’s what I’m doing to celebrate the 6th birthday of Richer Solutions.

For the birthday month of November and through to Small Business Saturday (5th December 2026),  you can book a discovery call with me for less than a Starbucks coffee!

It’s a good choice. I won’t mention hot honey, lather up, or reverse on you. Neither will I fit I try to fit you into a box or make you drink coffee.

What I will do is work with you for 30 minutes to make you and your business stronger. Consider a £6 bargain that you unlock for November without having to shop around.
